About Late Harvest Jazz

Late Harvest Jazz combines the talents of saxophonists Brett Haglin and Dean Randall with those of trumpeters Jack Bannon and Rich Cross. The four horn players bring a wealth of experience and musical creation to an exciting smooth jazz project. Continuing to perform together as the horn section for the Groove Merchants, they also work individually as sidemen in various bands throughout the Phoenix area. As with their namesake style of wine, the four musicians let their desire to form a sweeter, smoother style ensemble mature on the vine until ready for consumption. While our performances focus on upscale, intimate wine bars and private events, we also participate in various festivals throughout the Southwest.

The Late Harvest Jazz concept is a combination of creation and cover. We endeavor to blend performances of the best songs of today's smooth jazz icons with ecclectic material and our own creative compositions. We play for the sheer enjoyment of the experience and are fearless in our pursuit of fun! No other band will follow Al Jarreau with Al Hirt. The term "smooth jazz" is too limiting a term for what we do, we prefer "Late Harvest Jazz" and believe that you will too.
